I ll listen to this Arun certainly. This song of 16 December you mentioned is fav of me as well. This sounds like raag kalyan. Very soulful lilting tune, with IR written all over. If you have seen this movie the same tune is being palyed as BGM at several places on a bright mode with dual effect of strings over it at a slow pace.

I loved the music of the legend of Bhagat Singh, I think there are many songs of high class. I specially like MAHI VE, Alka has sung it very well, I think it is one her best renditions. Again you would notice ARR has given quite a few songs to Alka, I think in female category she is like Sonu N to A R Rahman. Only thing is that many people claim (and I read it in one book also)m this song shouldn't have been in the film, since he never got engaged. Oh Bhagat Singh ji the dare devil free dom fighter. Those who have read Bhagat's letters and articles say he was extremely intelligent.
Yeah, Rahman makes the best use of Alka because he knows her range and gives her songs accordingly. She has a beautiful voice but has to used accordingly. Anu Malik is other MD who has used Alka really well (Refugee stands out).
Rahman unhappy with use of 'Jai Ho' in poll campaign
Quote:
CHENNAI: Music maestro AR Rahman, whose compositions in "Slumdog Millionaire" made him the first Indian to win twin Oscars, is critical of political parties using for a poll campaign the song "Jai Ho" that he composed for Danny Boyle's rags-to-riches drama.
TBH, there was only one party that used Jai Ho, and that was the congress. Why this obfuscation with "political parties?"
