MTV recently conducted a poll for best albums since 1981... Here are the results

1. Thriller - Michael Jackson
2. Born To Do It - Craig David
3. Appetite For Destruction - Guns N' Roses
4. OK Computer - Radiohead
5. Nevermind - Nirvana
6. (What's The Story) Morning Glory - Oasis
7. Definitely Maybe - Oasis
8. The Joshua Tree - U2
9. Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not - Arctic Monkeys
10. Back to Black - Amy Winehouse
11. Is This It? - The Strokes
12. College Drop Out - Kanye West
13. The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
14. The Marshall Mathers LP - Eminem
15. The Queen Is Dead - The Smiths
16. Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine
17. Purple Rain - Prince
18. Automatic For The People - REM
19. 8701 - Usher
20. Doolittle - Pixies

Some obvious misses, in my opinion

Madonna - Like a Virgin
Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill
Metallica - Metallica
Pearl Jam - Ten
Norah Jones - Come Away With Me
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory

Some other albums which may have been in my personal top 20

Green Day - American Idiot
Live - Throwing Copper
Sheryl Crow - Tuesday Night Music Club
Eric Clapton - MTV Unplugged
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication
Pink Floyd - Momentary Lapse of Reason

Of course, Craig David being placed at No 2 above everything else seems ridiculous...

Major Major Miss - In my uninformed opinion .. Hysteria Def Leppard 1987
Image

wiki sez -

Hysteria is one of only a handful of albums (and the third in rock history) that has charted seven singles or more on the US Hot 100: "Women" (#80), "Animal" (#19), "Hysteria" (#10), "Pour Some Sugar on Me" (#2), "Love Bites" (#1), "Armageddon It" (#3), and "Rocket" (#12). It remained on the charts for three years and has sold 18 million copies worldwide.
