Dear Melodians,
Do you remember Sony's Fame Gurukul in 2005? The one that Qazi and Rooprekha won.

After 3 years, now I can look back objectively at FG and can confidently say that it was 100% scripted show. Here are some scripted acts:

1) Kirti's vote-out and making Shamit the villian
2) Arijit-shamit friendship and Arijit's voting out of Shamit
3) Mona- Anubhav love story
4) Arpita's singing was sidelined by making her look like a villian
5) I have doubts on Javed Akhtar and his role in this entirely scripted drama :S

I think the show was to popularise the offscreen drama. But Sony miscalculated how popular Qazi will become. Perhaps the plan was to take him out of the show before finals. But Qazi became a money minting machine for Sony and they let him stay and win the finals.....

Does anyone want to revist this show?

yes i do want to revisit the show....but i don't think it was a scripted show...Arpita was definitely a good singer but had an attitude problem..specially towards Qazi..Rooperekha on the other hand came across as a simple,straight-forward girl..Arijit was a damn good singer..why he voted shamit out...well monica ke pyaar mein i guess ;) .
i don't clearly remember everything but I loved the show nevertheless.the best performances as far as I remember were Arijit's vande matram(sung by A.R.Rehman)and Arpita's asha bhonsle number daiyya yeh main kahan aa phasi..I am sure there were other great performances too.Rex used to sing well too...I wonder why FG-2 never happened.

Yes I do want to visit the show....At that time scripting of show did not exist to increase TRP...

Arpita definitely was big B with huge Attitude..
Shamit and Arijit had something going...Together they got rid of Kirti...and another gal too..

Finally Arijit canned Shamit....Even fat boy D Rex was playing games...

Everyone was ganging up against Qazi and wanted to vote him out desperately....Well it did not sit well with Janta and a music lover like MOIself also was rooting for Qazi :P Seriously...I did not want Arpita or Shamit to win.. :x

My most favorite singer was Arijit Singh but he killed his own chances by falling for Shamit's tricks and played along with him in politics...What went around came around..

Story outcome Qazi won by big lead for winning everyone's heart with his innocent, loving, honest self...He might not have been the best singer but was a better human being compared to most singers...

Yes, even I rooted for Qazi all the time. But now I have my doubts.
Scripting for TRPs has always been there. Now we have become wise enough to see through these tricks.

Arijit-Shamit may have ganged to vote out Kirti ......but Arijit falling for that new girl (Monica?) and voting Shamit out seemed scripted to me. I still remember that after voting out, Arijit was shown to have fainted and we all could see that he was acting

Rooprekha was a good girl butshe had huge communication problem. When she participated in Jo Jita wahi superstar, I had tough time protecting her comments

FG 2 came as some Fame reality show and it flopped....

Heheheheheheh Yeah I remember each incident...

The thing got to me was toooo much male bonding between Shamit & Arijit to the extent of sleeping together.... :O :-">

=)) =)) =)) We used to laugh so much at Arijit and Shamit......remember Arijit saying "I prefer boys"

But now I feel that Arijit was a good singer who was made a mickey in the show. If this was SRGMP (old one), he would have gone much far....

  Hey Priety......so good to see you...

I used to like Qazi that time, but now I feel it was all dramabazee and no singing.....He should not have won the title at all. Coz he didn't use it later and we lost many good singers coz of him and his stardom....
