Code of Conduct (COC)

Hello Friends,

Welcome to your new home – the Melody Junction! Before you begin your musical journey, please have a close look at the Code of Conduct (COC) rules listed below. Make sure to read and follow them.

General Rules for the forum:

1. Please use a valid mail ID to create an account in the forum and any fake email IDs would lead to a permanent ban on the member.

2. Creating Multiple IDs is against the forum rules and if any found will lead to a warning level raise or even a ban in the extreme cases.

3. As this being a private forum, the administrators can ban any member if they feel that the member can cause disruption to the proper functioning of the forum.

4. Name Calling/Profanity/Personal Attacks (may it be straight/sarcastic) will not be tolerated and strict actions will be taken against those not following the rule.

5. Posting in Caps is against the forum and internet rules. It is called shouting in internet and those posting in Caps even after warning will be dealt with strictly.

6. Using expressions or language in posts that are considered foul, vulgar, hateful, bigoted, sexually harassing, racially offensive, or are in any way discriminatory. Whether an expression falls within this definition will be determined at the discretion of MelodyJunction appointed forum moderators and their decision will be final.

7. Advertising other forums or any other business ventures will lead to permanent ban on member.

8. If you have any issues with any member or Dev team member here, please take it on mail/private message with the concerned, but DO NOT open threads to state them. Such acts shall not be tolerated at any costs.

9. If any issue with any member and needs Dev team intervention, then do report to us so we can step in and take appropriate actions. If you find any perverts, then report to us as such members have no place in this forum.

Other Rules:

No chatting/spamming: Please be reminded that no non topic /off topic mundane chatting will be entertained in the threads. If you have to discuss, discuss the topic or responses in the topic related to the topic. Non topic chatting makes the threads look unimpressive and also the continuity of the discussion gets lost.

Avoid redundancy. Before you post a thread, first check out if the existing threads to see if a similar discussion is going on. Join that instead of opening yet another discussion on the same topic. Please help to keep the section clean.

Post Right: Please make sure that you post the right information in the right place and keep the forum clean. Please take a tour of the forum to first figure out which section is designated for which topic

Do not quote long posts. It makes the pages look messy. Quote only the portion you want to comment on.

Take Permission:

a. All articles posted here should carry the source link. If the article is copied from another forum, then please get the consent of the author of the article as well as from the Dev team of that particular forum. Like wise no articles posted here shall be copied in other forums without the consent of the Dev Team of this forum.

b. Please DO NOT post videos that carry other forum watermarks, unless approved by the Dev Team.

Have suggestions or Need help?? - If you want to give any suggestions or ask any question on any topic please don’t open a separate thread to ask it. Simply post it at the Suggestion and Help Desk. It will definitely be answered by someone.

Musical topics: All musical topics shall be posted in the right sections designated for them in the Music Discussion section. A lot of choices are provided to cater to your individual tastes. Make full use of it.

Reality Shows: All the reality show discussions shall be carried out in the sub sections designated for them in the Reality Shows section. While you are at the reality shows section -

a. Please do not open threads asking for updates /help. The Dev Team will make arrangements for both written and video updates for the reality shows to be posted regularly. Please wait for the designated member to come and post them. If for some reason the designated updater's cannot post, then alternate arrangements shall be made by the Dev Team.

b. Critic performances not the personality of the person: While discussing the episodes of the reality shows, please stick to the performance of the participants. Do not comment on their lifestyle, looks, dressing, or anything that is not related to their singing. Such discussions can hurt and offend some. Do not make comments that can instigate a fight. Anyone found not following this rule will be dealt with very strictly.

c. No territorial prejudice. Music has no boundaries, so don’t start putting partitions.While discussing the shows, DO NOT bring regionalism talks, religious bias or inter country socio economic political issues or prejudiced sentiments here. It is a musical war, not a religion war, neither is it a inter country war. No running down of any country(s) will be tolerated. Anyone found making any offending comment about a country, its culture, religion or people per se, will be dealt with very strictly by the Development Team. Anyone retaliating to such posts offensively will also face serious action.

Non musical topics: All non musical general topics (eg. debates on current affairs, games, celebration threads, sports, lifestyle trivia birthday threads etc) you can open them in the General Discussion section.

Give respect and get respect. Please do not make posts that are instigatory, abusive, profane, derogatory, distasteful or has communal/regional/mocking/ condescending overtones. Such posts shall be dealt with very strictly which can even result in a BAN. Please do not use slangs. This section is visited by young, adults and seniors as well. Maintain the dignity of the place.

Realize the difference between constructive criticism and bashing. So long one stays within the rules of the COC and criticizes, it is acceptable by the Dev team, but violating the COC by resorting to bashing of a celebrity/ participant/ member or any person shall not be entertained here. You can comment on your fellow members’ comments or expressions, but DO NOT get personal and whoever found doing so will be dealt with very strictly.

Equal Rights: No topic can be such that only some particular set of members can post. Every member has the right to post in any topic they want to just that the post should adhere to the rules listed here. So no member will shoo away another member from a thread if the opinions do not match.

REPORT not Retaliate. In case you find a topic/post breaking any of the COC rules please make use of the “REPORT” button and report it. DO NOT retaliate back with a fitting reply. We are here to help you, please let us do the needful. If anyone is found retaliating back shall also face disciplinary action along with the offender.

No backbiting or spreading rumors: Please do not bring over other forum discussions here and fill pages on that. We don’t encourage any behind the back talks.Do not spread rumors. Make a post on a topic only of you are certain of its authenticity. .

These rules have been drawn up, so that each and every member of this forum can enjoy their stay here. Anyone found breaking the rules shall face strict action.
