My favourite folk music style is the style of Rajasthan..Simply amazing and captivating....It enchants and grips you with the pathos, style of singing and the earthy feel to it...And the songs are normally so difficult to sing with small murkiyan and harkats ..Hats off to their music
Kesariya balam is one of my favourite songs The song by Shankar Mahadevan is also gr8..thanx a lot for it..Hvn't heard it before
@ Anu,don't u think we shld now start a thread on Tamil folk songs?Saare states aa gaye....ek hum hi peeche reh gaye hain

@Anita - Neki aur pooch pooch... We can always start one.. But the problem is I don't have much idea about Tamil folk except for few Illayaraja composition.. He used too much of tamil folk in his music but they used to be really good ones.. Chalo, lets get started with it.. You can come up with something I am sure

Just what I thought. I have already collected for the song Kesariya Balam. Posting that thread now. The same song has been sung in so many different ways.
