Thanks IndraD, I discovered this forum quite accidentally today... was searching for something on harmonium player Appa Jalgaonkar on google, which led me to a Melody Junction link on Pandit Jasraj. Immediately registered, and found some interesting topics. I heard the entire Jeeva album many years ago, and had it on tape which has now gone absconding. 'Roz roz ankhon tale' is on one of my CD compilations, and I listen to it every few weeks. If I play the song once, I have to hear it at least 10 times. It's sad the music didn't get noticed because of the movie's sorry fate. Yes, 'Dil Padosi Hai' is a lesser-discovered masterpiece - luckily I have ths CD, which makes me decide what to listen to once I get home. Yes, will keep posting. Ciao.
I was wondering which my favourite RD-Gulzar film would be. The toss-up would be between Aandhi, Ijaazat, Masoom, Parichay and Kinara (Khushboo had two great songs O maajhi re and Do nainon mein too). While each of these is a classic, I somehow feel Kinara is somewhat under-rated. Look at the gems here

Great to see a discussion around 'Dil Padosi hai'.. its a personal favorite of mine as well....
There are so many songs that stand out in that album. and most of my fav songs are already mentioned by IndraD. The album came out in 1987, and I had a cassette of the same. I remember, I would listen to the first song 'Bheeni bheeni bhor', stop, rewind and again listen.. It juts takes you to some place else... I loved the rustic flavor of 'Maajhi re maajhi' of the album to.. and the composition of each of the songs is so brilliant, it creates the underlying atmosphere of the songs beautifully... The title songs line 'Dil padosi hai hai magar mera tarafdar nahi..' left the little school girl in me awwed.... Very few people would have listened to 'Shaam se aankh me nami si hai' - first sung by Asha Bhonsle in this album and then redone by Jagjit Singh in 'Marasim', but the original version touched my heart a lot more than the later... If 'Rishte bante hai' was beautifully composed, 'Saaton baar bole bansi' made it even better... My only regret for the album was that it deserved a better ending than 'Raat Christmas ki thi'... To me, this song along with 'Saawan sasura sataye' were quite weak as compared to the other gems of the album...
On the whole, a must have album for any music lover...
I will come back with my top 10 of Gulzar-Pancham combination... Would real need some hard thinking there...
