The amazingly talented child performer
The King of Pop burst onto the music scene in the early 1970s in a band with big brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon. Despite the undoubted talents of his siblings, it was the baby of the band who captured the imagination. Michael, the kid with the cheeky grin, afro haircut and infectious vocal – not to mention his stunning dance moves – helped make the family quintet the biggest Motown band of the era.
Thriller Jacko had already released his debut solo album Off The Wall in 1979, but it was Thriller which established him as the King of Pop, earning him eight Grammies and staying in the Top 10 of the charts for a record 80 consecutive weeks. Featuring classic tracks like Billie Jean and Beat It, it went on to become the best-selling album of all time. Meanwhile, Jacko’s sparkling glove and leather jacket become instantly recognisable pieces of pop iconography.
The Moonwalk
Mimicked the world over, Jackson unleashed his trademark dance move on the world during a live performance at the Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever television special in 1983. It quickly became a cultural touchpoint for the 1980s.
Bad If the Moonwalk had teenagers falling over their feet as they tried to glide backwards, follow up album Bad had them grabbing their crotch as they copied their hero.
Bubbles The chimpanzee was adopted by Jackson from a cancer research clinic in Texas in 1985. He went on to sit in on the recordings of Bad and later slept in a crib in Jackson’s bedroom. This bizarre friendship started to turn the King of Pop into Wacko Jacko.
Neverland Named after the fantasy island inhabited by Peter Pan, Jackson opened the California ranch in 1988. Featuring a zoo and a theme park, the over-the-top estate was at the centre of foreclosure proceedings in 2007.
His face
The mystery of his transformation from a fresh-faced 11-year-old to his unusual appearance in his later years has long been a talking point. The 1991 song Black or White - one of his groundbreaking 1990s videos – stood as a cruel irony to that transformation.
Earth Song
The 1990s brought a mix of success and ridicule for Jackson, with the 1996 Brit awards performance that featured a stage invasion from Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker illustrating that the King of Pop’s spell had been broken.
Child abuse allegationsIn 1993, 13-year-old Jordan Chandler and his father Evan accused Jackson of abusing Jordan. A civil case was brought and settled out of court, but Jackson stood trial more than a decade later after another boy, Gavin Arvizo, accused him of sexual abuse. Jackson was acquitted in May 2005 after a five month trial. His judgement was also questioned after he dangled son Prince off a Berlin hotel balcony to wave to fans.
His death
Like many famous people before him, Jackson died before his time. The legends of Elvis, Kurt Cobain and Princess Diana only strengthened after their untimely deaths. After a decade in the wilderness, Jackson was booked for a string of performances at the O2 - whether they would have been a triumph or a disaster we will now never know.

Memories come rushing back. I used to listen to Thriller a lot when I was in class 10th , it was sort of my relaxation. I would say his music was orchestra till then but he moved to techno electronic big time from BAD onwards. His compositions like speed demon and smooth criminal were my first exposure to sequenced rhythm and arpeggios ruling the roost. I often discussed with my elder brother MJ must be having expensive and great collection of keyboards, later I read that Korg used to make special keyboards for MJ which had a lot of arpeggio and sequencing (delta) pattern, these became his hallmark oflate. I strongly suspect he had a team of dedicated keyboarders for all this while he focussed more into entertainment and dance aspect. It is strange and humbling how death is the ultimate truth and we all should do good karma so we have no regrets at last. Michael Jackson's children are usually hiding behind masks ... but not yesterday.
MJ's three kiddos; Prince Michael I (pictured here), Paris and Prince Michael II (aka Blanket), were seen without their usual disguises at Circus Circus hotel in Las Vegas yesterday. Perhaps the amusement rides there remind them of Neverland. Or being dangled off a balcony.
The King of Pop was not seen in the kids' company, but son Prince's facial expression betrays a slight family resemblance. Jackson took up residence in Sin City last month amid rumors of a deal for regular appearances at a hotel there.

Debbie Row ...will likely get custody of her children. Keeping track of Michael Jackson’s legal affairs is a full-time job. Actually, I’m guessing that’s several people’s full-time jobs. Perhaps a small factory worth of people. Because it is physically impossible for the human brain to hold even 25% of Michael Jackson’s legal data for more than twelve hours. Okay I’m pulling all of this out of thin air, but my point still stands.
I’m going to take you back a few years, to a more simple, innocent time. 2005, to be exact. Back then, Jackson and ex-wife Debbie Rowe were involved in a custody case over their two children. Debbie was trying to completely give up her legal rights to her children, something most people found strange. While that appeared to be what happened, it turns out the case wasn’t followed through properly, and her rights were never terminated. Therefore, custody of Paris and Prince Michael will likely go to her

Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, will be given custody of the late star’s three minor children, according to the Jackson Family attorney.
The King of Pop passed away at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles on Thursday after suffering a massive cardiac arrest.
The legendary star is survived by his three children Prince Michael Joseph Jackson. Jr, 12, and Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, 11, from his marriage to ex-wife Debbie Rowe, and Prince Michael Jackson II, known as Blanket, 7, whose mother remains unknown.
Rowe gave up her rights to her two kids after their divorce in 1999, and Jacksons’ longtime lawyer Brian Oxman believes the kids will now be permanently cared for by their grandma. The children are believed to be at the Encino, California home of Joe and Katherine Jackson as the family mourns the loss of MJ.
“Probably Mrs. Jackson will take care of them, she loves them dearly. Everyone is crying and it’s very sad,” he told RadarOnline Thursday.
This is good news. Those poor kids. How awful it must be to lose their dad so early in life. It will do them good to be with their family at this time.

MJ is suspected to be addicted of narcotics that may be the cause of cardiac arrest. These Narcotics depress the respiratory system and overdose of those can lead to death too....The toxicology report will make sure , what drugs and the dosage of those he ingested. Even his personal doctor (cardiologist) is not available for interview , who was the only person present with MJ , when MJ was found not breathing.
