Gulshan Bawra, who had penned two all-time classics 'Mere Desh Ki Dharti' (Upkar) and 'Yaari Hai Imaan Mera' (Zanjeer), passed away yesterday. Besides these two well-known songs, his pen produced songs like 'Kasme Vaade Nibhayenge Hum' and 'Aati Rahengi Baharein' (Kasme Vaade), 'Banake Kyon Bigada Re' (Zanjeer), 'Jeevan Ke Har Mod Par' (Jhootha Kahin Ka), 'Yeh Vaada Raha' (Yeh Vaada Raha), 'Vaada Karle Saajana' (Haath Ki Safai), 'Agar Tum Na Hote' (Agar Tum Na Hote) and 'Sanam Teri Kasam' (Sanam teri Ksasm). A large section of his work was with RD Burman and Kalyanji-Anandji. May his soul rest in peace.
