After seven years of hosting musical reality shows Shaan is all set to quit hosting to save his dwindling singing career. As an anchor Shaan has become a prominent face across the country since 2000.
Shaan said, "There are several issues that led to this decision. After hosting a show and shouting excitedly into the mike, my throat used to go for a toss. I'd been putting my singing career into jeopardy. Rehearsals were an impossible task. I felt my throat was hammered after every shoot. It's not fair, singing is more important to me"
Earlier too Shaan has wanted to give up anchoring. "I've been hosting for a long time now. The novelty factor is gone. I wanted to give it up last year and I also discussed it with the producers. However, we wanted to make the next season better, also the fact that they couldn't find another host, left me no choice. But I've made up my mind now. Today, anyone can host a show, it is not necessary that he or she has to be a good singer."
"It definitely adds to ones popularity. I'll miss it, but then one can't have everything." Shaan has hosted shows like 'Sa Re Ga Ma', 'Sa Re Ga Ma Lil Champs' and 'Voice of India' among others.

This is the best decision taken by Shaan He really needs to now come up with an album which is pending for a long time now.. Shaan has been the best host so far for any reality show... Will miss seeing his smile every week Hope this decision of his can earn him more and more songs!!!

Decision take at the right time o lil late thats it..coz reality show are not reality shows now... so its better to stay away from it and see the drama.. and enjoy...
