Folk Music and Dance of Gujarat
The most famous folk music of Gujarat is Garba, an Indian form of dance that originated in the Gujarat region.It is more similar to Western folk dance than to the presentational style of Indian classical dances such as bharatanatyam and odissi.

Garba is played during festival of Navratri in gujarat, but nowadays its famous all over india.Traditional garbas are performed around a central lit lamp. The circular and spiral figures of Garba have similarities to other spiritual dances. Alos, they have an idol of Maa Amba in middle with lamps.People dance around the center, bending sideways at every step, their arms making sweeping gestures, each movement ending in a clap.

Different region of gujarat has different styles of playing.they use different prop and show their devotion.

with small its called Dandiya/ Raas

with manjira is called manjira raas

with dholak its called dhol raas

with pot (gaagar) which is called "Beda raas"

with khanjri they play simply like clap

they play with talwaar. this is the most famous in rajput in gujarat. Rajput are called Darbar and Mer, who play with sword in their style which normal people cant play. Its really beautiful to see

Another type of garba includes with rope where they make design at the end and sum of them play with colorful saree make mayur pankh (peacock feather) in the end. some also play with diya in the hand or on the top of the gagari (pot).
